My Messages
This is the online help screen for the main MessageMaster Console page, which is your 'My Messages' page. You can see help for other Console pages by clicking on the 'Online Help' icon provided in the top right corner of each page.
MessageMaster Console
You open the MessageMaster console by browsing to: http://server/MessageMaster (where server is the server where you installed the MessageMaster Web part). Every page has an 'Online Help' link in the top right corner to get you detailed context-sensitive help for any part of the console.
My Messages Page
The 'My Messages' page is where messages delivered to "MyMessages" display. This is the first page you see when you open the MessageMaster console. Here is what it looks like with no messages in the list.
(1) Time Zone Section
Lets you see the time zone that all times on the page are currently displayed in.
The drop-down allows you to change all times on the page to display in a different time zone temporarily. If you are in New York, and you're viewing a message from a machine in Hong Kong, switching to the Hong Kong site's time zone would be a quick and easy way for you to see what time it was in Hong Kong when the message happened, without doing the 16 hour conversion in your head.
The list of time zones to choose from is really a list of sites that you have defined in MessageMaster. You need to define each of your Active Directory sites in MessageMaster. For each one, you specify the time zone for that location. Sites in MessageMaster are managed from the Management menu, under Manage Sites.
If you want to change the time zone used for all pages of the console, check the 'Use this as my default time zone' box. Your setting will be remembered each time you use the console.
Here is the same page but this time with some messages on it.
(2) Drill Down to Message Details
As you hover over each message row, it highlights in yellow. Clicking anywhere on a message row when it is highlighted will take you to the message details page for that message.
(3) Clear Button
Notice at the bottom, there now appears a [Clear] button. Click it to remove all messages from your MyMessages page once you've looked at them. Note: you can only delete all of the messages at once; there is no selective deletion. When you Clear your messages, you are only removing them from your MyMessages page view. They remain in the MessageMaster database for Searching and other people's Subscriptions until they are purged.
