Installing EventMaster Client

Important Note: You must install MessageMaster Client first. If you install the clients in the opposite order, understand that only event log events dated after the installation of MessageMaster Client will be sent in to the central database.
First install the EventMaster client on the server. Later install it on all the other machines whose Event Logs you want EventMaster to collect.
To deploy the client agent using a silent install, see KB00008. Remember to deploy MessageMaster Client as well, and to have it install before EventMaster client. Alternatively, you can use the console to Push Out the client agents to the machines you want to monitor.
The following images and descriptions provide an explanation of each step of the EventMaster Client installation process:
The Welcome dialog is presented when the installation starts. Press the Next button to continue.
Provide the name of the MessageMaster server. The client needs to know which server is running the MessageMaster server software. Provide that name on this dialog. Just type the name; it does not need \\ in front of it.
Select the folder under which to install the EventMaster client. All Objective Software products should be installed to the same location on any given computer.
Confirm the installation in order to start copying files and complete the installation of the EventMaster client.
The progress dialog will be displayed while the installation process is proceeding. This will take approximately a minute.
